Molson Coors operates three divisions, each with its own history, brands and market. Coors Brewing Company, founded by Adolph Coors in 1873, serves the United States. Molson, founded by John Molson in 1786, serves Canada. Coors Brewers Ltd., formed in 2002 but founded in 1777 as Bass Brewers by William Bass, serves the UK and certain European and Asian markets.
