Environmental Stewardship Case Study:
Green Impact Awards (Water)
Corporate responsibility at Molson Coors has never been about an initiative or a department. We are each accountable for corporate responsibility, business ethics and social responsibility. It matters to all of us, and we recognise the importance it has to our customers and consumers.
This is why in 2012 we worked with the National Union of Students (NUS). With them we developed a Water Stewardship Special Award to be part of their annual Green Impact awards. This was a great opportunity for Molson Coors to encourage greater awareness of water stewardship out on NUS sites.
As part of the award, unions were required to produce an engaging ‘infographic’ poster illustrating what they have done to save water on their premises. We were delighted with the high standard of entries and the original and informative way that the award brief was translated by each of the entries. It was unanimously agreed that the Sheffield University Students’ Union was declared the clear winner with this poster.
We loved the design, and the use of color. Quick facts could easily be picked up in passing without spending too long reading, while other elements take more in-depth attention.
Loved the fact there were some great innovative ideas in place; Water Night Out themed nights, banning plastic bottles, message in a bottle scheme. We also loved the Freeasy Water language and logo.
