As part of our recruiting efforts, it’s important for us to attract, and be an employer of choice across, a diverse talent pool. We foster an inclusive culture and have implemented a number of programs to retain and develop the diverse talent in our global organization.
A diverse workforce is a stronger workforce.
Our leaders are actively involved in supporting workforce diversity. An example is The Violet Initiative, which focuses specifically on the retention and advancement of women at Molson Coors, launched in 2009 as a subset of our diversity efforts. The mandate of The Violet Initiative, led by senior women in the company, is to gain a better understanding of the barriers and issues faced by women today so we can continue to shape practices and behaviors to better support work-life balance of our employees.
In 2010 we also began work to better understand the experiences of our multicultural employees. Similar to the Violet Initiative, our multicultural initiative focuses on the hiring, retention and advancement of people from a variety of cultures at Molson Coors. To identify opportunities for improvement, our employees will be invited to participate in focus groups to share their perspectives. Their candid input will help us in the development of further initiatives in 2011 and beyond.
