Celebrate Tomorrow

Molson Coors launched the Celebrate Tomorrow initiative in 2020 in response to the civil unrest and rising injustices facing BIPOC (AAPI, Black, Hispanic/Latino, Native American/Indigenous) communities. The annual $1.5 million investment supports BIPOC communities by increasing equitable access to higher education, economic opportunity and social justice.

Program Highlights

Investments

$4.5 million invested across the U.S. and Canada in BIPOC organizations since 2020.

Partners

59 BIPOC organizations supported across North America.

Endowments

Six scholarships endowed at national universities to promote diversity in brewing in partnership with Tenth & Blake Craft Breweries.

There are wide disparities in graduation rates from two- and four-year institutions between white students and students of color. Far too often, this is due to financial capacity, which has been further strained due to COVID-19 impacts and economic inflation.

Our approach to Equitable Education provides resources for students of color through:

Completion Grants

Completion grants address the unmet financial need that remains a significant barrier to degree completion for many low‐income students and students of color. This is particularly difficult among students in their final year of college when savings are often exhausted and traditional need-based financial aid proves insufficient in covering students’ expenses. Nearly 15% of students with three‐quarters of their required credits fulfilled leave college without degrees, often due to financial constraints.

As a new approach in 2022, Molson Coors is supporting Completion grants as a critical educational component. Molson Coors is investing more than $500,000 in completion grants to 22 institutions across our U.S. corporate hometowns to enable students to complete their certificate or degree.

Endowed Scholarships

The Tenth & Blake Brewing Education Scholarship Fund seeks to address the lack of diversity in the craft industry. The endowed scholarships support BIPOC and LGBTQ+ students seeking degrees in brewing or fermentation science at universities near our six craft partners. These students also will be offered an internship opportunity with each of the craft breweries.

Endowments ensure that these scholarships will last in perpetuity at these universities. In 2022, we supported Atwater in endowing a $50,000 scholarship at Michigan State University. This year in Canada, we are establishing five $5,000 scholarships at the University of British Columbia, one of the country’s largest and most diverse universities, to support higher education opportunities for Indigenous, Black, and people of color students.

The racial wealth gap has continued to grow, with the COVID-19 pandemic further widening that gap. Investing in minority-owned businesses not only helps communities, it creates new jobs, increases homeownership and strengthens the overall U.S. economy.

Our approach to equitable economic opportunity is to provide resources and grants to:

Entrepeneurship Spotlight

Black Entrepeneur Initiative provides 200 black entrepeneurs access to a learning community  and platform that helps them grow their business and have access to capital.

In 2021, 78% of participating entrepeneurs gained new customers and 66% increased their revenue.

Small Business Spotlight

Black and Brown Business Growth Program helps business owners who have been historically disenfranchised and most vulnerable. The ripple effect of helping them with grants will help everyone who lives, works, and plays in the city of Harrisonburg, Rockingham County and the entire Shenandoah Valley.

Achieving social justice is at the core of our work, helping ensure everyone has equal access to economic, political and social rights and opportunities.

We invest in organizations that have been leading efforts advance justice for decades and serve as strong voices for change for BIPOC communities.

These include key national organizations like:

  • UnidosUS
  • Asian Americans Advancing Justice
  • National Urban League
  • Native Americans Right Fund
  • Black North Initiative
